NOV 21- A DAY IN THE LIFE

Project Criteria 

  1. Theme: Capture what a day in your life looks like. 

  2. Sequence: 15 photos, maybe arranged in chronological order, maybe not.

  3. Subjects: Mix of candid moments, routines, environment, and small details.

  4. Variety: Include wide shots, medium shots, and close-ups.

  5. Continuity: Maintain consistent style (lighting, color, or mood).

  6. Story: Each photo should contribute to the narrative of the day.

  7. Final Output: 15 curated, edited images presented as a cohesive series.

Brainstorming for “A Day in the Life” Photo Project
Create a few point-form notes to show your planning, and come to me for approval before you start shooting. Your project must include photos taken outside the school, and your final set should feel sequenced and cohesive—as if they belong to the same day and story.

To plan your idea, consider:
Key activities in your day from morning to night
People you regularly interact with (family, friends, pets)
Locations outside school you can photograph
Small details or close-ups that help tell your story
A possible sequence (beginning → middle → end of your day)
The overall mood or theme you want your photos to show
What is the style/ voice you are going for in your finished work?  

Bring your notes to me for approval before you begin photographing.

EDITING - FEB 2, 2026

You may do multiple edits on one photo for each section. Make sure you LABEL YOUR PHOTO with the corresponding number that matches the edits you used so I can see that you tried all the different techniques. You should have 5 edited shots (labeled 1-5) in a separate folder titled edited INSIDE your composition photos folder. If you finish early, please take 3 photos that work together and edit them with a similar style to create a a series  (to get extending marks). 1- First photo:  Crop image  Turn the photo black and white  Adjust Contrast 2- Second photo:  Adjusting Brightness /exposure Adjust color hue/ saturation. 3- Third photo (play with a variety and then pick the one you like the most):  Selective Colour Adjustments - WARM TONES Selective Colour Adjustments - COOL TONES  4- fourth photo:  Blur  Sharpen  Smudge  5- Fifth photo:  Dodge  Burn  Sponge
